The James E. Vaughn Foundation hosts events such as SPARK (Students and Parents Advancing Reading Knowledge) where we share strategies that parents can employ at home to help their children maximally benefit from learning. We also give families free children's books and other manipulatives to help them to immediately implement new learning at home.  The programming sponsored by our foundation targets minorities, especially African American children who continue to be outperformed in reading and math by their counterparts.
